On Saturday, May 18, 2019, Women of Law hosted it's 2nd Annual Networking Brunch themed "Women in Charge" at Maggianos Post Oak in Houston, Texas. It was an intimate event with guest speakers Attorney and NFL Agent Nicole Lynn and Celebrity and Sports Publicist and Marketing Professional Tamara Washington. Emceeing by Attorney Kristy Marie, entertainment by DJ Gloss, captured moments by Who Shot It Photography and special appearances by Houston Texans players Whitney Mercilus, Justin Reid, and The Original Texan Chester Pitts.

Tamara Washington's interactive approach to equipping you on how to best market yourself successfully was what you didn't know you needed. So little time and so much to take in, the highlight was when she asked everyone to write five words to describe yourself? And then asked if your brand matches up? The room filled with the chatter of eventgoers proving that she was right on the mark with asking the question. It made you take a quick inventory of the ways you're presenting your brand, and how you could apply the tips, she offered and made adjustments to realign your brand to match up.

Nicole Lynn took us through her journey of becoming an attorney and NFL sports agent, which is what everyone was dying to know since she made history as the First Black Women to Represent a Top 3 Pic. Nicole exudes purpose, and she spoke passionately on finding yours. It put a lot of things in perspective when she said, "If you are living in your purpose, you are a woman in charge". Hearing her story motivated anyone that may be doubting the path that they are on. The valuable lessons she shared encouraged you always to seek what you know you can have. People will try to deter you from going for what you want, hence her being told that a law firm wouldn't let her be an attorney and a sports agent. She reminded you to keep your focus on finding a place that's open to achieving your goals.

Women of Law team from left to right is Brittny, Brenda, and Kristy hosted an amazing event that is well on its way to becoming a household event for years to come. The sold-out event is proof that when you create a space, it elevates many.
Women of Law empowers women lawyers by connecting, inspiring, and promoting the advancement of women in the field of law.
